shoehorn

Why do I need a shoehorn? When, why and for which shoes: The shoehorn in profile

Shoehorns are one of the most popular everyday helpers. They are available in wood, metal, plastic and even horn. With a shoehorn - or shoe horn - you can slip into everyday shoes and shoes for going out quickly and easily. On the one hand, this is very practical. On the other hand, with a shoehorn you are also doing something good for your shoes and socks.

A shoehorn extends the life of high-quality shoes because the material on the inside rear edge of the shoe is protected and stays in its original shape for longer. We also recommend this useful helper for cheaper models, whose materials are more prone to tearing anyway. Stockings and socks are also protected and are not stretched or rubbed too much.

Without a shoehorn, regularly worn ankle boots, pumps, high heels and loafers often show slight material fatigue after just a few weeks. This is usually located exactly at the point where the foot rubs against the inner material of the shoe when slipping it on.

Shoe horns are suitable for all shoes that you have to slip into. These include trainers, business shoes for men, low shoes, moccasins, sneakers, ballerinas, boots and pumps of all kinds.

Packaging

The packaging material for the shoe horns from holzlöffel.ch has to meet a number of requirements: It should be light, protect the products well and of course fit in with our values of regionality and quality. The wooden spoons should also have a cool design with and without packaging - after all, this makes sustainability much more fun!
After a long search, we decided to use environmentally friendly cardboard sleeves. These are plastic-free and also come from Switzerland

Leather straps

The leather straps that we use for the shoehorns are made of robust, vegetable-tanned goat leather. This means that the leather has been treated with vegetable tanning agents. The vegetable, low-chemical tanning process uses a vegetable broth made from bark additives, which is particularly gentle and can be easily broken down naturally.
The leather straps are made by one of the last tanneries in Switzerland, a family business now run by the 4th generation and located in the heart of Switzerland, in the Emmental.

Guaranteed Swiss-Made

A shoehorn may seem like a simple product – but each of my shoehorns contains a thoroughly thought-out design concept, carefully selected and regionally sourced materials and genuine Swiss craftsmanship.

To this end, I work closely with a traditional carpenter's workshop in Muotathal, whose thorough and precise work regularly impresses me. Because the high-quality wood for the shoehorns also comes directly from Swiss forests, I can track the entire value chain at any time and ensure that the product cycle is environmentally friendly. This also means I can completely avoid emissions-intensive logistics processes or long transport routes.

This is good for the planet - and for our conscience: you can be sure that all my products have been manufactured in an environmentally friendly way. Thanks to quality craftsmanship and high-quality raw materials, wooden spoon products will accompany you through everyday life for a long time.
