A shoehorn is created...
The shoehorns are produced regionally in a traditional carpentry workshop in Muotathal. It takes many small and large steps to turn a piece of wood into a delicate yet robust and long-lasting shoehorn! Only first-class Swiss sawn timber is used for the shoehorns. Even the rough production, cutting and planing of the wooden parts, takes many hours of work. The large pieces of wood are turned into small wooden parts, which are then milled into the right shape. The shoehorns are then given the final finishing touches in a complex manual process. To ensure that the shoehorns slide perfectly into the shoes, they are painted twice with a special varnish. After each coat of varnish, the shoehorn must be sanded again to ensure that no varnish particles remain.
Have fun hatching!
Sincerely, Michèle
